Why Braidwood Sports exists.
I'm Grant Marshall. I've spent several years on the committees of grassroots clubs in Northern Ireland, doing the same admin you are doing now.
The job nobody signs up for
Chasing membership fees. Keeping a spreadsheet of who has paid and who hasn't. Answering the same questions on WhatsApp, again and again. Every club runs on volunteers who would rather be at training than doing paperwork, and I was one of them.
The platforms we tried made it harder
- Support took days to answer, and often got it wrong
- The admin side didn't work properly on a phone, which is where club admin actually happens
- The app was replaced with a new version that was no better
- Simple things, like pausing or cancelling a membership, weren't possible
I looked for something easier and couldn't find it. Nothing was simple, and nothing felt polished. I wanted something that fixes those problems, makes the admin simpler and gives club volunteers back their time. That's what led me to start Braidwood Sports.
What it aims to be
A platform that is as easy to use as possible, and properly finished. Every screen was designed at phone size first, then given room on a tablet and a laptop. Approving a member, pausing a membership, sending a reminder or checking who has paid should each take a tap or two. I know the gripes, because I had them all.
